Job Description
Consultant in Neuro-Rehabilitation

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Neurorehabilitation to join the Northern Care Alliance at Salford Royal Hospital and Trafford General Neurorehabilitation Services. This is a full time post in Neurorehabilitation. The service currently manages patients in Level 1 and 2 facilities. Neurorehabilitation is a priority service within Greater Manchester and the successful candidate would help in enhancing patient care at all levels.

You will join a team of 12 other consultants located at Salford Royal, the Devonshire Unit, Stockport and the Floyd Unit, Rochdale and will form part of the Greater Manchester Neurorehabilitation services.

Main duties of the job

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register or be a Specialty Trainee within six months of their CCST date at the time of interview.

Person Specification
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register / Admission to the Register within 6 months of interview
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • Licensed with the GMC
Qualifications & Training
  • MRCP/MRCS or equivalent
  • Completion of CCST/higher specialist training
  • Participation in a management training course
  • Participation in an advanced IT training course
  • Evidence of Accredited Clinical & Educational Supervision of Medical Learners
Knowledge, Training & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in Neurorehabilitation
  • Clinical experience and expertise in Neurorehabilitation
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development and keeps up to date with medical advances
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the core legal, ethical, and political issues which govern medical practice
  • Experience of recent and current research/ relevant publications
  • Experience of Major Trauma pathways and rehabilitation
