Meaningful clinical leadership is at the heart of this Consultant Psychiatrist opportunity, working within a specialist inpatient service supporting women experiencing complex mental health needs. This Consultant Psychiatrist role offers the chance to lead care within a well-established multidisciplinary team delivering rehabilitation and acute psychiatric support.
In this Consultant Psychiatrist position, you will act as Responsible Clinician within a therapeutic service focused on recovery, positive behavioural support, and empowering individuals to rebuild independence. This role may also appeal to a Forensic Psychiatrist or General Adult Psychiatrist seeking a leadership position in inpatient mental health.

Services focus on person-centred care, clinical excellence, and strong multidisciplinary collaboration within well-supported therapeutic environments.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act within an inpatient service.
- Provide clinical leadership within multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews and treatment planning.
- Contribute psychiatric expertise to assessment, formulation and therapeutic interventions.
- Support service development through governance participation, training and supervision of junior medical staff.
- Medically qualified with MRC Psych (or equivalent) and GMC registration.
- CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or Forensic Psychiatry.
- Experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist within inpatient mental health services.
