Consultant Microbiologist - West of Ireland

A leading hospital in the West of Ireland is seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant Microbiologist to join its multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert clinical microbiology advice, infection prevention and control leadership, and antimicrobial stewardship across the hospital.
• Collaborate closely with clinical teams to support the diagnosis, treatment, and management of infectious diseases and complex microbiological cases.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and the ongoing advancement of microbiology services.

The successful candidate will be registered as a specialist in Microbiology with the Irish Medical Council and demonstrate excellent clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
