Consultant Gastroenterology WSI in Undergraduate TeachingThe closing date is 09 October 2025
We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and dynamic colleagues to join the gastroenterology service at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. The gastroenterology department currently comprises 4 WTE consultants and 3 working LTFT. The successful candidates will be afforded the opportunity to collaborate with and develop the service.
ResponsibilitiesAlthough these posts are being advertised with an emphasis on Education and ERCP/EUS interest any clinical interest could be accommodated (and encouraged) where possible as long as this interest fits in with the service needs of the department and complements the interests and expertise of the existing consultants. The Trust has an expanding cohort of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) patients, therefore, interest in this area would be welcomed.

Job responsibilitiesThere is an expectation that the post holders provide emergency cover and weekend working. Out-of-hours endoscopy is shared equally by the gastroenterologists. Weekend cover will entail cover of existing in-patients and assistance in the management of acutely unwell patients with gastrointestinal problems.
Person Specification Academic Achievement- Entered on the specialist register in gastroenterology and general medicine with either CCT or CESR or be within 6 months of CCT.
- Higher degree in a field allied to gastrointestinal disease
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
