Consultant Gastroenterologist

Closing date: 05 May 2026.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide a high quality secondary and/or tertiary gastroenterology service together with the department.
  • Undertake a mix of general gastroenterology, endoscopy, GI bleed on call and ward cover.
  • Provide specialist advice to both primary and secondary care health professionals.
  • Hold clinical responsibility for outpatient and endoscopy lists, inpatient care and the GI bleed rota on a 7 day consultant of the week model.
  • Support undergraduate and postgraduate education and research.
  • Develop a subspecialty interest (IBD, nutrition, hepatology or advanced endoscopy) where desired.
  • Participate in flexible working or annualised sessions as per departmental needs.
Qualifications
  • Entered on the GMC Register.
  • Eligible for inclusion on the GMC specialist register in gastroenterology & general medicine or equivalent.
