Consultant Community CAMHS Psychiatrist

We are inviting applications for a Consultant Community CAMHS Psychiatrist to join the NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. The post is funded as eight Programmed Activities (10 PAs) with 7.5 Direct Clinical Contact activities (DCC) and 2.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPA). It is currently held by a locum doctor and will become a substantive position. Flexible working, job share or fixed term arrangements are welcome.

Main DutiesThe successful candidate will provide senior medical support to multidisciplinary teams and deliver direct clinical care for children and young people with mental health needs across Basildon and Brentwood, Essex. Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver clinical care and supervise the team.
- Work closely with children, young people, families and external CAMHS mental health providers, as well as acute hospitals.
- Collaborate with the other CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist (Dr. Coleen Lyder) and share supervision responsibilities for trainees.
- Provide guidance and supervise trainees within the team.
- Inclusion in or eligibility to be included in the Specialist Register for Psychiatry or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
- Approved Clinician status or eligibility for it.
- Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in adults.
- Experience in managing patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience working with interpreters and translators.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a DBS (formerly CRB) check.
