What you'll be doing

Barlborough is an Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery Hospital. You will be required to provide anaesthetic services to support elective orthopaedics and spinal surgery. You will be part of a state-of-the-art anaesthetic team delivering cutting-edge anaesthetic techniques to allow patients to be discharged on the same day after knee and hip replacement surgery.

Experienced in providing pre- and post-operative assessment of patients, your role will include providing good quality written information to the patient's GP. As a key member of the centre's team you will work closely with our team of Consultants across a wide range of specialisms and the hospital's Medical Director and local Leadership Team. You will also be a key contributor to the development of Clinical Quality Standards and participate in our audit and clinical governance programme.

You are committed to ongoing continuing medical education and professional development. We will support you to maintain medical competence through participation in the annual revalidation and reaccreditation schemes of the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists, as well as mandatory training through our in-house education programme. There may be opportunities to develop into a specialist role of interest.
