A global law firm set up by specialist international arbitration advocates.
The firm engages primarily in complex, high-value disputes, and counts among its clients many industry leaders and sovereign States.
THE ROLEThe role will involve working closely with partners and other colleagues across the firm on high value, complex international arbitration cases - principally focused on infrastructure and major project disputes between parties located in multiple jurisdictions in the construction sector.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with team members to formulate case theory and strategy.
- Assuming a key role in drafting written submissions, including managing more junior members of the team in the process.
- Managing research and document review processes.
- Assisting in the preparation of witness and expert evidence.
- Liaising directly with clients, witnesses and experts, tribunals, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Working closely with partners on BD initiatives, including law-review publications, client briefings and conference presentations.
With 6pqe+ representing clients in high value, complex international investment and/or commercial arbitration, you will have an excellent academic background.
Construction experience would be an advantage in particular disputed technical, delay, and quantum-related issues; and disputes arising in the oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and engineering sectors.
Additional languages to add to the firm's wide-ranging international language capabilities.
A strong understanding of the substantive and procedural aspects of contract and treaty arbitration law and practice.
