Your new role
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Construction Operative to join a busy maintenance and refurbishment team working across residential and commercial properties in the East Belfast area. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who can demonstrate a broad range of construction skills and is comfortable undertaking varied works as part of a multi-skilled team.The successful candidate will be flexible, reliable, and capable of delivering high-quality workmanship across a range of trades while ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out demolition and strip-out works as required.
- Complete wall and floor tiling to a high standard.
- Undertake joinery and general carpentry repairs and installations.
- Perform general building maintenance and refurbishment works.
- Complete snagging, repairs, and reinstatement following maintenance works.
- Work across a variety of properties and projects as directed.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures on site.
- Maintain a professional approach when working in occupied properties.
- Accurately record completed works and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled construction operative.
- Strong practical experience in:
- Demolition
- Tiling
- Joinery
- General building and maintenance works
- Valid CSR Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a flexible approach to work.
- Excellent awareness of health and safety requirements.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within social housing, planned maintenance, or response maintenance environments.
- Additional trade skills such as plastering, painting, plumbing, or flooring.
- Relevant trade qualifications.
