Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Conference Producer do in B2B events?
A Conference Producer researches a market, builds a commercially strong agenda, and recruits the speakers who bring it to life. The role covers everything from desk and telephone research through to writing session content, working with sponsorship sales, and delivering the event onsite.
How much experience do you need to become a Conference Producer?
Many Producer roles are open to candidates with around a year or more of hands-on B2B conference production experience, provided they understand how an agenda comes together and can demonstrate strong research, writing and speaker relationship-building skills.
Do Conference Producers need to travel internationally?
Yes, for roles managing an international portfolio. Producers typically travel to deliver their own events onsite alongside a hybrid working pattern based from a home office city.
What's the difference between a Conference Producer and a Content Producer?
The titles are often used interchangeably in B2B events. Both typically own agenda research, speaker recruitment and content strategy for an event, working closely with sponsorship sales to ensure the content supports commercial goals.
