Job Title: Compliance Officer

Salary: £26,000- £32,600

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)

We're looking for a Compliance Officer to join our motivated and dedicated Compliance team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

About the role

You will be reporting to the Compliance Assistant Manager, Exam Security, you will be responsible for investigations into question paper security breaches and alleged malpractice in registered schools. You will manage incidents with speed and accuracy, ensuring each case is handled fairly and thoroughly.

As part of this role, you will lead investigations into potential security breaches and any subsequent malpractice cases. You will analyse incidents with a solutions focused mindset, collaborate with colleagues, and work to maintain the security of our exams. Your work will play a key role in maintaining trust and ensuring that the security, fairness and integrity of our exams are maintained.

This role includes leading investigations into question paper security incidents and malpractice detection. You will ensure that each case is managed promptly, accurately and in line with established procedures. You will also contribute to improving our processes for malpractice detection, allegations and question paper security. The decisions communicated to our centres and candidates are essential to maintaining the integrity of Cambridge International qualifications and ensuring candidates receive the right results.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include
  • Leading on investigations into question paper security incidents; overseeing the full case from initial detection through to resolution and communication of outcomes.
  • Leading on investigations into suspected malpractice; overseeing the full case from initial report/detection through to resolution and communication of outcomes.
  • Evaluating facts and evidence; making informed decisions, identifying any additional risks and escalating these to your manager
  • Deciding on outcomes; from providing guidance, issuing warnings through to withholding candidate grades, you will be responsible for communicating fair decisions.
  • Analysing data to identify trends, producing recommendations for centre improvement or closures.
  • Reviewing processes, procedures and external guidelines; ensuring we are always following best practice.
  • Supporting the wider Compliance group as required.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location.
