Job Description

Interim Compliance Manager

Location: Cambridge (Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Contract: 6 Month

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly respected organisation seeking an Interim Compliance Manager to join their established compliance function on an initial six-month contract.

Looking for an experienced Compliance professional with a strong background in Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), sanctions compliance, and wider regulatory requirements.

The Opportunity

Reporting into a senior compliance leader, you will support the delivery and ongoing development of the organisation's global compliance programme. The role has a particular focus on:

  • Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC)
  • Modern Slavery compliance
  • Sanctions compliance
  • Ethical business practices and governance

You will act as a trusted adviser to stakeholders across the organisation, providing practical guidance on compliance risks while ensuring policies, procedures and controls are effectively embedded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of compliance programmes and frameworks.
  • Provide advice and guidance on anti-bribery, corruption, sanctions and modern slavery risks.
  • Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives to employees and stakeholders.
  • Assist with compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities.
  • Review high-risk third-party due diligence assessments and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Support investigations relating to potential compliance breaches or ethical concerns.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records, reporting and audit trails.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and act as a trusted compliance partner.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging best practice within the compliance space.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong knowledge of the UK Bribery Act and related regulatory frameworks.
  • A solid understanding of Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), Modern Slavery, and Sanctions Compliance risks.
  • Previous experience working within compliance, ethics, risk management, or a related function.
  • A proactive business-partnering approach with the ability to build credibility and trust across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Confidence in exercising sound judgement and knowing when to escalate matters appropriately.
  • High levels of professional integrity, discretion, and ethical standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A self-motivated and collaborative approach, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
