Job Description
Job Title: Commvault Backup Engineer

An initial 8-month contract opportunity for a Commvault Backup Engineer. This hybrid role requires working on-site three days a week in Sheffield and is inside IR35, so working through an FCSA accredited umbrella company is necessary.

Key Skills and Experience:
  1. Experience in Commvault administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  2. Knowledge and preferably experience of Commvault Hyperscale solutions.
  3. Ability to architect and implement a complete new Commvault solution from scratch.
  4. Deep understanding of IntelliSnap and its integration with block storage arrays.
  5. Integration of Commvault with RMAN for Oracle Databases.
  6. Hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimization of Commvault.
  7. Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions within Commvault.
  8. Experience with data migration and upgrade projects using Commvault.
  9. Familiarity with Commvault Command Centre and other monitoring tools.
  10. Understanding of licensing and compliance requirements.
  11. Strong documentation skills (e.g., Confluence), analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  12. Proficiency with the Commvault reporting suite, including creating custom reports.
  13. Experience working in a finance environment with strict change management practices.
  14. 8-10 years of experience in Commvault administration.
  15. Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  16. Good understanding of traditional Data Centre architecture and automation technologies.
  17. Experience in troubleshooting and handling Commvault systems.
  18. Proven experience in implementing disaster recovery solutions.
  19. Ability to coach less experienced staff.
