Role Overview

We are seeking a kind, empathetic and reliable Community Support Worker to support individuals living in the community across Cambridge and surrounding areas with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. You will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing while delivering person-centred support tailored to each individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs
  • Support clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation and maintaining their home environment
  • Encourage independence, choice and community inclusion
  • Support individuals to attend appointments, activities and social opportunities
  • Follow individual care plans and risk assessments at all times
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Work flexibly across weekdays, evenings and weekends
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in the care sector
  • Caring, compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Reliable, hardworking and committed to delivering high-quality care
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults

Desirable Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (drivers are an advantage)
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs
  • Understanding of person-centred care and positive behaviour support
