Community, Participation & Volunteering Assistant

Contract: Fixed term contract until 28 February 2027

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, weekend work as required.

Location: Coalbrookdale office, Telford.

Closing Date: 2 August 2026

Summary

As a Community, Participation and Volunteering Assistant, you will help organise and facilitate our volunteer programme. Working with the Community Participation and Volunteering Manager, you'll help make volunteering enjoyable, welcoming and accessible to everyone. You'll also support the smooth running of volunteer activities and keep volunteers informed throughout their time with us. The role is based at the Coalbrookdale office, with some travel to other sites as needed.

What you'll be doing

You'll ensure that our volunteers receive clear and consistent communication, taking information from across a range of teams at multiple sites and sharing it with our volunteers through a number of channels, e.g. weekly email and newsletter.

Being organised is key, you'll make sure all our volunteer records are up to date and all of the volunteers and volunteers managers are clear on our volunteer processes e.g. how to claim expenses, rotas and training.

You'll support volunteer recruitment, how we advertise roles to new audiences, identify the right volunteers for the right roles and provide an engaging induction.
