Job overviewCommunity Paediatric Secretary with SUDC responsibilities
Working within a busy, dynamic Community Paediatric Service, encompassing looked after children, child development, education and child protection, you will work in a great team in modern offices. You will receive an induction programme, full training and have the opportunity for ongoing learning and development.
This post is part of the Sudden Unexpected Deaths in Childhood (SUDC) multi agency team. Part of your role will be to support sensitive meetings, liaise with the SUDC on call paediatrician, coroner's office and other professionals. You will work closely with, and be supported by, the SUDC Admin Team Lead.
If you are sensitive and empathetic, with a positive attitude and want to learn, this is a great opportunity to utilise your excellent communication, organisation and administrative skills to support others. With experience of working within an office environment, you will have excellent typing and Microsoft Office IT skills and be familiar with audio/digital dictation. Minute taking is a key part of this role, therefore good note taking skills are key.

Main duties of the jobProvide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the consultant and community paediatric team, in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, protocols and guidance. This includes typing clinical correspondence, referral management, booking appointments and telephone liaison.
As part of the Sudden Unexpected Deaths in Childhood (SUDC) multi agency team, you will work closely with and be supported by the Admin Team Lead with responsibility for SUDC, to support sensitive meetings, liaise with the SUDC on call paediatrician, coroner's office and other professionals.
Qualifications- GCSE Grade C/5 minimum standard or functional skills level 2 - in English Language and Maths or equivalent experience
- Recognised typing and/or IT qualifications (RSA II) or equivalent skills
- Diploma in business Administration
- Experience working in an office environment
- Experience of typing, filing, photocopying
- Dealing with the public
- Working within a community health services setting
- Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook
- Excellent knowledge of office systems and procedures
- Good team skills
- High level of initiative
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Maintain confidentiality and professional manner at all times
