Job Description
Communications and Engagement Consultant - Intern

Location: London

Position Summary

Works on a variety of client communications and documentation deliverables including system and end user documentation, on line help systems, graphics, web based project elements, and general business communications. This professional coordinates and manages critical project activities by applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to satisfy customer needs and expectations during projects.

Essential Functions of the Job
  • Under limited supervision, work with product teams to develop and prepare a wide variety of client communications and documentation deliverables such as system and end user documentation, marketing materials, information releases, newsletters and web based content to support the Global Financial Information Systems. Communication and other documentation may be planned (system enhancements) or unplanned (system outages).
  • Maintain familiarity with EY knowledge delivery technologies with emphasis on web based media and support tools to ensure communications and written materials are published within firm standards and guidelines. Provide general graphics development and support skills using various graphics development packages, including Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Fireworks to support communication and documentation requirements for knowledge sharing and information updates to global member firm local support organizations.
  • Consult with management in the selection of appropriate media and format for compliance with firm standards.
  • Serve as the editor, as required, for documentation and communication quality.
  • Provide updates to management on project progress and changing requirements.
  • Maintain GFIS CHS/CKR, departmental CHS/CKR and US Finance learning CHS/CKR.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities
  • Ability to determine best medium for information delivery and make recommendations.
  • Ability to use documented policies and procedures to make decisions regarding appropriate formats and practices for publishing documentation and/or communications.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Solid command of business communication tools and strategies
Supervision Responsibilities
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Some work is regular, operational work and is performed with minimal interaction with supervisors (e.g., daily Alerts, Bulletins).
  • Other work is based on projects and is assigned and tracked by a supervisor, but work is conducted with minimal interaction from a supervisor.
  • This position does not supervise others but may be responsible for teaming with others to complete project assignments.
Other Requirements

Overtime may periodically be required due to deadlines on planned projects and/or unplanned communication needs related to system issues.

Job Requirements
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience:
    • Approximately 4 6 years of related experience
