We are seeking an enthusiastic, team player to join our Neighbourhood Central team as a Commissioning Officer to cover maternity leave.
The role covers Sunderland, South Tyneside & Durham and is for a 9 month maternity leave period.
Job responsibilitiesSupporting the Commissioning Manager and working as part of a multiprofessional team, you will expand your knowledge and skills as a strategic commissioner for primary and community services. Key tasks include maintaining confidentiality and trust, working in a busy environment, demonstrating adaptability, flexibility and the ability to cope with uncertainty, commitment to continuing professional development, professional calm and efficient manner, effective organisation, and a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference by focusing on goals.
Qualifications- Word processing and Excel qualifications (intermediate level), or equivalent experience.
- Word processing and Excel qualifications (advanced level), or equivalent experience.
- Further training / post graduate or significant experience in project management, financial management or supporting change management processes.
- Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services.
- Experience in communications and stakeholder management.
- NHS contracting, commissioning and performance management experience.
- Experience of service change/redesign and success at delivering programmes of change.
- Experience in contract management, including performance management and quality assurance.
- Knowledge/experience of standard NHS contracts, terms and conditions, schedules and contract levers.
- Previous experience in a similar role in the public sector.
- Knowledge of health and social care issues.
