Hours: 37.5 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks)
Contract type: Permanent, subject to six months' probation
Selwyn College, with a reputation for friendliness and good food, is recruiting for a full time Commis Chef. The role will assist the Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef and Section Chefs in consistently producing the highest possible standard of food for our students, staff, Fellows and conference guests, and will contribute to the introduction of innovative dishes to enhance the overall dining experience.
ResponsibilitiesAssist the Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef and Section Chefs in producing high quality food for staff and students; contribute to the introduction of innovative dishes; maintain service standards and support the kitchen team in all aspects of food preparation.
QualificationsApplicants must have a good working knowledge of food and a passion for cooking. Holding or working towards a professional chef qualification is an advantage. A positive, "can do" attitude and willingness to help ensure service is never compromised is essential.
