Job Description

This is a fast-paced, dynamic role where the deals are varied and no day will be the same. Work closely with wider business stakeholders and external clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and negotiate technology-related contracts, including licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, and software development agreements.
  • Provide legal guidance on data privacy and protection laws, ensuring compliance with regulations like GDPR.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters, including patent, copyright, and trademark issues in technology transactions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with new technology initiatives.
  • Conduct legal research on emerging technology trends and their potential legal implications for the organisation.
  • Draft and maintain standard contract templates and policies tailored to technology transactions.
  • Assist in resolving disputes and negotiations related to technology contracts and intellectual property matters.
  • Stay updated on industry-specific regulations and best practices to inform legal strategies and recommendations.
  • Provide ad-hoc support in relation to various legal matters, leaning on your expertise in commercial technology law.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will be an effective communicator, adept at building enduring relationships with a wide range of business stakeholders, including at Executive Board level. Key requirements are:

  • Practising Solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
  • A global mindset and solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects or teams effectively, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to building consensus and fostering positive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Creative problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast paced, dynamic work environment, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
