Job Description
Overview 
The Commercial Technical Equine Veterinarian is a new position and is critical to Bimeda's ambitious equine strategy. This individual will be involved in all aspects of our equine portfolio and strategy from inception to execution. The role requires strong commercial acumen in addition to technical excellence and aims to enhance Bimeda's presence as experts in the equine sector, becoming a preferred partner of choice for equine veterinarians. This is a remote role, ideally located in the UK or France.
Responsibilities- Provide technical, commercial support to the equine business internally and to external partners.
- Develop innovative and engaging training support for our equine veterinarian customers and distribution partners to increase sales and establish Bimeda as a preferred partner.
- Develop training programmes for internal partners (commercial, marketing, R&D and regulatory) to ensure excellence.
- Develop and deliver training material for new starts on our equine range.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams and distribution partners.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and approve promotional materials in line with local Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMRs).
- Identify product unique selling points and integrate them into the product marketing strategy to benefit customers.
- Support marketing and other teams with new product launches, campaigns, and strategies to ensure impactful marketing.
- Work cross-functionally with the new product pipeline team to identify opportunities, assess potential and advise on requirements for success.
- Contribute to study designs, trial protocols, and clinical evaluations for new equine products; interpret and present trial data to stakeholders in a scientifically sound and accessible manner.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) across the European equine veterinary sector and leverage these relationships to support webinars, conference lectures, and strategic goals.
- Build relationships with universities to raise awareness of Bimeda as sector experts; participate in expert industry groups to stay updated on developments and support group aims.
- Assist the business and commercial teams to achieve goals, including cross-functional work with strategic and key accounts and presence at industry events, along with technical training for strategic accounts and technical advice.
- Continuously improve commercial acumen through internal and external training and digital resources.
- Handle pharmacovigilance reports in a timely, professional manner and coordinate investigations with reporting veterinarians; deliver follow-up training to maintain product confidence.
- Occasional cross-support for holidays in the ruminant technical team, with training provided to facilitate this.
- Membership of a European Veterinary Body (such as RCVS or VCI) enabling practice in a European country.
- Veterinary Degree.
- Minimum 5 years' clinical experience in first opinion equine practice, ideally with performance or sport horses.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex veterinary information into accessible messages for varied audiences.
- Travel will be required internationally to customer meetings and trade events.
- Fluent in English.
- Ideally located in the UK or France.
- Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK) and/or Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
- Membership of FEEVA - Federation of European Equine Veterinary Associations.
- Experience in an equine referral setting or advanced equine certification/qualifications.
- Additional languages (French/Spanish/German in particular).
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a commercial or technical role.
- Knowledge of the commercial landscape in equine health.
- Previous involvement in product trials, pharmacovigilance, or marketing compliance.
- Knowledge of equine nutrition, diagnostics, or therapeutics.
- Established network within the equine veterinary and equine sport community; established KOL relationships.
