Job Description

Job Title: Commercial Litigation Solicitor (2+ PQE - Senior Candidates Encouraged)
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £56,000+ (DOE)



I'm currently working with a well-regarded commercial law firm in Liverpool that is looking to strengthen its Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution team with the addition of a talented solicitor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a partner-led team that handles a wide range of high-quality, complex disputes, acting for a strong client base including owner-managed businesses, corporate, directors, shareholders and investors. The firm has built a strong reputation in the Liverpool market and offers a genuinely supportive environment, with clear progression opportunities for ambitious individuals.



The Role

You'll be joining a busy disputes team, working closely with experienced partners while also having the autonomy to manage your own caseload. The work is varied and commercially focused, including:



  • Contractual disputes

  • Shareholder/director disputes

  • Professional negligence

  • Debt recovery

  • Property litigation (including landlord & tenant disputes)

  • Contentious probate

  • Insolvency-related matters

  • Injunctive relief and other business critical disputes


You'll be involved in matters from initial instruction through to resolution, including trial where required.



Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision

  • Drafting pleadings, applications and pre action correspondence

  • Advising clients on strategy, risk and commercial outcomes

  • Handling disclosure, witness and expert evidence

  • Attending hearings, mediation's and settlement discussions

  • Supporting on larger, more complex matters

  • Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development



About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2+ PQE in Commercial Litigation/Dispute Resolution

  • Strong working knowledge of the CPR and litigation process

  • Confident managing files and dealing directly with clients

  • Commercially aware with strong communication and drafting skills

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritise effectively

  • More senior candidates (5+ PQE and above) are very much encouraged to apply, as there is scope to take on more complex work, support junior team members and play a key role in the continued growth of the department.
