Commercial/Life Sciences Lawyer Associate Level 3+ PQE International Law Firm Birmingham/Hybrid
BCL Legal is pleased to be assisting an international law firm in its search for an Commercial/Life Sciences Lawyer to join its dynamic IP, IT, and Commercial team in Birmingham. This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis with flexible working options and hybrid working (50/50) as standard. Excellent salary and benefits package offered.
The Role- Work alongside leading lawyers advising a diverse client base including SMEs, multinational corporations, start-ups, research institutes, charities, and spinouts.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, and provide full-range IP, commercial, and regulatory advice to clients across a variety of sectors, with a particular focus on the life sciences industry.
- Gain exposure to cutting-edge work within the life sciences sector, collaborating with clients at the forefront of scientific research and development.
- Assist clients with intellectual property matters, including patent law, licensing agreements, technology transfer, and regulatory issues, in the UK and internationally, including the US.
- Develop strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and providing high-quality business-oriented advice from the outset.
- Participate in business development activities, engaging with industry organisations, and contributing to the growth of the firm's life sciences and IP practice.
- A minimum of 3 years' PQE with a proven track record in intellectual property and commercial work, ideally with experience in life sciences commercial and IP transactions.
- Strong drafting, negotiating, and advisory skills, with a practical approach to solving client issues in the life sciences sector.
- A keen interest in the life sciences industry, with experience working with clients in this sector considered a plus.
- Excellent academic credentials combined with solid technical expertise in IP, commercial agreements, and regulatory matters.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a close-knit, collaborative environment.
- An interest in engaging in business development and building client relationships.
