Commercial Contract Lead/Manager (Construction, Digital and Facilities)
Location: Central London - Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)
Duration: 6 months - Inside IR35

This is a *Central London* Hybrid based role with an excellent immediate start within a Public Sector organisation working on *Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of contract management practices across assigned business areas.*

The Opportunity

We are supporting a prestigious public sector organisation with the appointment of an experienced Contract Lead or Contract Manager to join a growing commercial function responsible for managing a significant and diverse contract portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering contract management excellence across a complex and high-profile environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, contract owners, suppliers and commercial colleagues to maximise value, improve supplier performance and drive best practice contract management.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted commercial partner, supporting contract managers across the organisation while helping to strengthen commercial capability and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of contract management practices across assigned business areas.
  • Provide expert advice and support to contract managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and drive effective supplier performance management.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions in line with governance requirements.
  • Develop and deliver contract performance reporting, management information and portfolio insights.
  • Monitor contract expiry pipelines and support replacement, extension and exit strategies.
  • Support pre-procurement, mobilisation and transition activities to ensure robust contract management arrangements are established from the outset.
  • Develop and deliver contract management guidance, training and best practice materials.
  • Promote effective use of commercial systems, tools and data to improve contract oversight and spend management.
  • Work collaboratively with commercial, finance, legal and operational teams to ensure successful contract outcomes.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience in contract management within a complex public sector or regulated environment.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and improve contract performance across multiple suppliers and contracts.
  • Experience supporting or leading commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of contract governance, compliance and risk management.
  • Experience producing contract performance reports, dashboards and management information.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build effective business partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Construction, estates, facilities management or maintenance contracts.
  • Digital, technology or corporate services contracts.
  • Professional services contracts.
  • Government framework agreements and public sector commercial environments.
