Job Description
CNC Miller / Turner

£16.00 - £21.00 per hour DOE Bradford Monday to Friday Permanent Days

Castle Employment Group is recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller / Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Bradford.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, friendly and growing engineering business specialising in high-quality, low-volume and bespoke machined components for a range of industries, including defence.

The company offers a relaxed, supportive working environment where experienced machinists are trusted to manage their own workload, with no micromanagement and a genuine family-feel atmosphere.

What's on Offer?

  • Pay: £16.00 - £21.00 per hour, depending on experience

  • Annual Salary: £33,280 - £43,680

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

  • Contract: Full-time, permanent

  • Flexible working arrangements

  • Friendly, close-knit engineering team

  • On-site canteen facilities

  • Opportunity to join a growing business with long-term plans

The Role

As a CNC Miller / Turner, you will be responsible for:

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC milling and turning machinery.

  • Manufacturing high-quality, bespoke precision components.

  • Working on one-off and small-batch production rather than repetitive, high-volume work.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Working with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens and Mazak.

  • Selecting tooling, setting offsets and making programme adjustments.

  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and workmanship.

  • Working independently and managing your own workload.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a CNC Miller / Turner, with practical knowledge of both disciplines.

  • Confident programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.

  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak or similar controls.

  • Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings.

  • Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances.

  • A background in subcontract precision engineering or toolmaking would be highly advantageous.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Candidates with traditional, hands-on machining experience and a broad understanding of both CNC milling and turning are particularly encouraged to apply.
