We're looking for a Principal Engineer - Cloud to set the technical direction for our Cloud Platform and SRE capabilities, shaping how compute, platforms and DevSecOps operate at scale. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who can influence across squads, drive strategy and roll up their sleeves when it matters.

Responsibilities Leadership & Influence

• Mentor and coach engineers, raising the bar for engineering excellence
• Influence outcomes across multiple teams through expertise and collaboration

Delivery & Strategy

• Drive complex initiatives end to end with real customer impact
• Work closely with Architects and act as Product Owner when shaping roadmaps
• Design and deliver robust, durable solutions for business critical systems
• Embed best practices alongside other Principal Engineers
• Champion responsible innovation and experimentation
• Share insights on emerging tools, trends and technologies

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong, trusted relationships across engineering and the wider business

Qualifications & Experience

• Deep expertise running containerised workloads at scale
• Strong understanding of cloud engineering workflows and platform self service
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and peer code review
• Expert level knowledge of AWS or GCP (one required)
• Experience delivering enterprise scale solutions in complex environments
• Ability to lead, inspire and influence senior engineers and stakeholders
• Exceptional problem solving, communication and decision making skills
• A self starter mindset with comfort operating at high autonomy

Kingfisher Share Save
