Clinical/Forensic Psychologist

Due to extended funding of the Multi Agency Stalking Partnership, we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and ambitious specialist psychologist to be part of this unique and highly innovative service, working with stalking perpetrators and those who manage them, across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
This role is a rare chance to be part of an award winning service, providing opportunities to develop your skills and career in the cutting edge specialism of the psychology of stalking. You will work alongside experts in the field and develop your clinical skills in working with perpetrators who present with a variety of personality issues and mental health needs.
Previous experience of working within forensic mental health services is required. Expert knowledge of, and experience of working with, stalking perpetrators is not required; comprehensive training will be provided, including training in using the Stalking Risk Profile and relevant therapies.
The service is based in Ravenswood House, Fareham, but the work is delivered across a range of NHS and non NHS premises (e.g. Probation offices) across Hampshire. Home working via virtual means is possible, and flexible working arrangements are considered.
Main duties of the jobThe role of a specialist psychologist in the Multi Agency Stalking Partnership is to be part of a team that provides expert consultation, formulation and intervention for service users within the criminal justice system who have engaged in stalking.
As an innovative service at the forefront of psychological work with people who engage in stalking, subject specific prior expertise is not required. A commitment to developing knowledge and skills regarding working with stalking, through continual professional development, is expected. The role requires adaptation of known psychological principles and techniques to assist in the development of interventions and approaches to manage offenders in this field, ensuring that management of people who have offended is psychologically informed.
Expected outcomes include reducing repeat offending, improving psychological wellbeing, increasing access to services, and developing a workforce across the criminal justice system with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and confidence to work with this population.
Person SpecificationPrevious experience of working within forensic mental health services.
Training will be provided in working with stalking perpetrators, including the use of the Stalking Risk Profile and relevant therapies.
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and adapt psychological principles to this specialised area.
