Clinical Trial ManagerWe are looking to recruit a Clinical Trials Manager (CTM) Early Phase Coordinator post within the Cystic Fibrosis Early Phase research team within Research and Innovation (R&I) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). The role is funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform (CTAP). CTAP is a UK-wide initiative bringing together paediatric and adult cystic fibrosis (CF) UK centres to lead in the delivery of CF clinical trials. CTAP has created a specialist sub-network of CTAP centres with expert knowledge and facilities to lead in the UK delivery of CF Early Phase Clinical Trials. This B7 CTM EPC post at MFT, is part of this expansion and we are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated individual to manage an established and growing early phase research portfolio across our site and help to provide the CF community with access to early phase clinical trials. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will act as professional lead for their portfolio of work. This will include strategic planning of the design, management and capacity for studies within the specialties. They will ensure that comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative processes are in place for setting up studies, organising necessary approvals (ethics, R&D, MHRA, Research networks etc.), data management, ensuring full compliance with the regulatory framework; including financial management of study set up costs and income recovery in conjunction with the R&I finance team.

Person Specification Education- MSc or an equivalent qualification or experience in clinical trials or a health related discipline.
- Degree
- Evidence of structured managerial training and continuing professional development, a managerial qualification or proven experience.
- A thorough understanding of the clinical trial process.
- PHD
- Management Qualification
- Experience in Clinical Trials Management, including setup, financial management, data collection, audit and project management.
- Sound knowledge of all aspects of research governance and related legislation and inspection requirements (e.g. MHRA, HTA,).
- Experience of the governance and approval systems within the Clinical and UK CRN for clinical studies.
- An appreciation of research methodology.
- Research project monitoring.
- Work with commercial sector in delivering trials/product development.
- Previous NHS experience.
- Experience of managing a budget
- Evidence of writing policies and procedures and evaluating their application in practice
- Excellent organisational skills, with a methodical approach and the ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to motivate self and others.
- Ability to work as part of a team and experience of interdisciplinary working.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present information and materials to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to prioritise own and others workload and practice effective time management.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight and unexpected deadlines.
- Able to demonstrate initiative and judgement in identifying key issues.
- Advanced IT skills with a good working knowledge of IT packages and databases
- Able to work independently and flexibly
