Job Description
We are seeking a full-time, passionate andenthusiastic Clinical Service Manager to join our dedicated, experienced andgrowing team of professionals. CaudwellChildren aims to change peoples lives, change the way society perceives andtreats disabled and autistic people and change the way that charities operate,through the provision of child-centred practical and emotional services,passionate campaigning and demonstrating best practice. The candidate should be able to work with a substantial degree of independent professional responsibility to take a senior leadership role within our clinical services and provide operational leadership for the Autism Service.

Main duties of the job Main duties of the role

To provide operational leadership for CaudwellChildrens Autism Service and to ensure effective clinical and operationalmanagement in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer and Governance Leadand work in collaboration with the discipline leads.

To work in partnership with the Chief OperatingOfficer and the Governance Lead to deliver quality and performance improvementsin the service, development of the service strategy and grow the business.

To work closely with the charity's Leadership Teamin developing and achieving the strategic goals of Clinical services andparticipating in the business planning processes for Clinical Services.

To take on the role of Safeguarding Lead forCaudwell Children.

To improve quality and outcomes through thecompletion of clinical audit and service evaluation.

In conjunction with the Clinical Lead, harnessexpertise by engaging with a range of organisations; including the voluntarysector, Royal Colleges, specialist professional associations, patient groups,NHS and community health services and social care to develop a shared focus onimprovement and alignment of purpose.

Line management and oversight of the Family SupportTeam at Caudwell Children.

To offer supervision to the discipline leadsworking in Clinical services.

Form part of the clinical assessment team leadingon Autism assessment for young people aged 4-11.

LEAVE ENTITLEMENT: 27 days annual leave per annum exclusive of

Bank Holidays(increasing with length of service)

KeyResponsibilities

To provideoperational leadership for Caudwell Childrens Autism Service and to ensureeffective clinical and operational management in partnership with the ChiefOperating Officer and Governance Lead and work in collaboration with thediscipline leads.

To work inpartnership with the Chief Operating Officer and the Governance Lead to deliverquality and performance improvements in the service, development of the servicestrategy and grow the business.

To work closelywith the charity's Leadership Team in developing and achieving the strategicgoals of Clinical services and participating in the business planning processes forClinical services.

To take on the roleof Safeguarding Lead for Caudwell Children.

To take on the role of Infection Control Lead forCaudwell Children.

To improve qualityand outcomes through the completion of clinical audit and service evaluation.

To positionclinical advice and leadership at the centre of Caudwell Children's AutismService with the aim of increasing quality and value throughout the service andthe charity.

In conjunction withthe Clinical Lead, harness expertise by engaging with a range of organisations;including the voluntary sector, Royal Colleges, specialist professionalassociations, patient groups, NHS and community health services and social careto develop a shared focus on improvement and alignment of purpose.

Line management andoversight of the Family Support Team at Caudwell Children.

To offersupervision to the discipline leads working in Clinical services.

To support theComplaints Officer to investigate Clinical Complaints and where required workwith HR to investigate concerns.

Form part of theclinical assessment team leading on Autism assessment for young people aged4-11.

Leadershipand Management

To oversee andmanage team productivity and address challenges as and when requiredimplementing in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team, structures andstrategies to improve productivity including training needs of team.

Ensure complaintsand incidents/serious incidents are investigated and responded to within aspecified timeframe.

Respond to feedbackfrom families on service delivery, dealing with difficult issues in a sensitiveway.

Be responsible forthe delivery of effective clinical and corporate governance within the servicearea, ensuring systems are compliant with policy.

Provide managerialleadership to staff within areas of service responsibility.

To have the abilityto lead on multi-disciplinary clinical discussions and supervision, reviews ofclinical activities and caseloads.

Manage all aspectsof Human Resource management, supported by the Human Resources Team includingrecruitment, retention, Sickness, Absence and individual performance managementin own area of responsibility. Provide effective leadership to services withinthe area of responsibility, ensuring strong clinical leadership is establishedand supported.

Ensure thatframeworks and systems are in place across own areas of responsibility for theappraisal, supervision, and personal development of all staff groups in linewith professional requirements/.

Manage incomingreferrals, team allocation processes and workload management.

To ensure theHealth, safety and wellbeing of all staff within the team.

To adhere toprofessional Codes of Conduct at all times.

To ensure regular,productive and open communication with staff who they lead.

With the GovernanceLead and Chief Operating Officer, jointly take responsibility for theperformance (oversight of clinical, contractual, financial and operational) ofthe service and the external market factors (demand growth, competitiveposition, etc.) to inform the development of the strategy.

Initiate, lead andparticipate in clinical service development activities within Clinical services.

To develop, monitor and evaluate assessmentand treatment pathways to support the multi-disciplinary teams to:

-Undertakecomprehensive assessment of children and families accessing the service.

-Utilise bestpractice guidance to inform clinical activity.

-Contribute to therecommendations for individual familys journeys based on identified needs.

-Deliver andevaluate interventions and recommendations.

-Work closely withthe Family Support Team to optimise a familys support.

-Evaluate and modifyfamilys journeys, utilising appropriate outcome measures.

Education and Professional Practice

Work on owninitiative and with minimal direct supervision from the Chief Operating Officer.

Supervise clinicalstaff in accordance with agreed policy and ensure their compliance with theirCode of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

Review and reflecton own practice through effective use of supervision with the Chief OperatingOfficer.

Ensure compliancewith professional standards for clinical practice.

Adhere to HCPCregulations or relevant Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for specialty.

Adhere to allCaudwell Children policies and procedures.

To participate andtake a lead role in the specialist education and training of professional andclinical colleagues, students, visitors and volunteers.

To actively supportand encourage staff in their CPD activities.

To lead educationand training events locally and, where appropriate, nationally.

Demonstratecommitment to ongoing professional development through participation ininternal and external development opportunities identified in supervision andappraisal.
