Essential Criteria:- A practicing physician/surgeon with a primary medical qualification on the UK specialist register / GP register
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in the speciality
- An understanding of the local health services as they relate to undergraduate medical education.
- Commitment to, and enthusiasm for, undergraduate medical education.
- Evidence of leadership qualities with a track record of involvement in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education
- Current clinical appointment within one of Manchester Medical School's clinical education partners (including General Practice) or current clinical academic appointment with the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences, at consultant level or equivalent.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Manchester MBChB programme structure and outcomes; how the year fits within the overall context of the programme and how the programme relates to the requirements of the GMC for undergraduate medical education.
- Experience of clinical leadership or medical education that is relevant to the roles and responsibilities of the position.
- Relevant experience in undergraduate medical education related to experiential learning, curriculum design and implementation with a degree in medical education (PG cert equivalent or higher).
- Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams in an educational context
