Job overview

Seeking a ST1-5 level doctor to join the Infectious Diseases and Microbiology research team in Bristol as a Clinical Research Fellow, contributing to high-profile commercial and academic infection studies within a growing nationally recognised research programme.

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver commercial and academic clinical trials, supporting participant recruitment, study reviews, and research governance activities.
  • Contribute to service development, gain experience in trial delivery.
  • For candidates with appropriate experience, develop an independent project alongside ongoing studies.
  • Work across Southmead Hospital and Bristol Royal Infirmary sites, provide cross-cover during leave and support flexibility for research development opportunities and clinical experience.
Qualifications and registration
  • Completion of MBChB.
  • Full registration with the GMC.
  • MRCP.
Training and experience
  • At least 3 years post-qualification experience, of which 2 years working in UK NHS hospitals.
  • An interest in pursuing further research in infectious diseases, microbiology or immunology.
Further training, management, audit
  • Evidence of recent CME / reasonable training progression at this stage of career.
  • Experience in audit projects, with written reports.
Research, teaching, publications
  • Teaching experience.
  • GCP training.
  • Research experience.
  • Evidence of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Information technology skills.
Personal requirements
  • Good written communication skills and evidence of the ability to communicate.
