Salary £57,528 - £64,750 per annum pro rata. Salary period: Yearly. Closing 07/06/:59.

Job Overview

This fixed term or secondment role involves working in a small, friendly multi-disciplinary team to provide psychological interventions for young people with eating disorders and their families. The role is based in Great Yarmouth but may require independent travel across Norfolk and Suffolk. Opportunities to collaborate with other psychological therapists within the wider eating disorders service are available.

Responsibilities include assessment, formulation and psychological treatment of individuals with eating disorders and co morbid mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will have clinical responsibility for complex cases, support the Principal Clinical Psychologist with service development projects, provide clinical supervision, and offer consultation to colleagues and external agencies. Practicing in systemic and CBT models is desirable.

We will provide regular clinical supervision, specialist training, and professional development opportunities such as CBT for eating disorders.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree (or equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology, accredited by BPS.
  • Supervisor training, or willingness to undertake training for supervising doctoral programme clinical psychology trainees.
  • Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
Experience
  • Experience working as a qualified clinical psychologist (Band 7) with evidence of appropriate knowledge and experience in practice to enable supervising trainee clinical psychologists.
Knowledge
  • Doctor level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis.
Skills
  • Effective communication of technical and clinically sensitive information to service users, families, carers and other professionals, within and outside NHS.
  • Proficiency in complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
