Job Description
Clinical Negligence Solicitor/Associate Location: Bristol - Hybrid Working The Opportunity

I am recruiting for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor/Associate to join a highly regarded team within a Top 100 law firm in Bristol.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinical negligence lawyer to handle a high-quality caseload, with a particular focus on higher value and complex birth injury litigation, alongside a broad range of complex clinical negligence matters.

The role would suit a solicitor who is confident managing technically challenging cases and who is also keen to take on a mentoring and coaching role within the team.

The Role

You will:

  • Manage a caseload of complex and higher value clinical negligence claims, including significant birth injury litigation.
  • Handle matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial.
  • Advise clients sensitively and effectively throughout what can be challenging and life-changing circumstances.
  • Work on cases involving complex medical, legal and evidential issues.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, medical experts and other professional contacts.
  • Support the wider team with technical expertise and contribute to the development of junior lawyers.
  • Coach and mentor junior solicitors, helping them develop their technical knowledge, confidence and case management skills.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the clinical negligence practice.
About You

You will be a qualified solicitor with solid experience in clinical negligence litigation and a strong track record of handling complex matters.

You should have:

  • Experience dealing with higher value and complex clinical negligence claims.
  • Strong experience in birth injury litigation, ideally involving significant or catastrophic injuries.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex medical evidence.
  • Strong client care and communication skills.
  • The confidence to take ownership of complex cases and work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A genuine interest in coaching and mentoring junior solicitors and contributing to the development of colleagues.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a specialist team.
Why Consider This Role?

This is an opportunity to join an established clinical negligence team within a Top 100 law firm, working on high-quality and genuinely complex cases while playing an important role in developing more junior members of the team.
