Job Description
Clinical Negligence Associate - London 
Salary up to £90,000 depending on experience; 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (option to buy/sell); Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
A leading, well established law firm with a strong reputation in healthcare litigation is looking to appoint a Clinical Negligence Associate / Senior Associate to join its growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist defendant healthcare litigation practice, acting for major healthcare providers, insurers and public sector organisations on a wide range of complex and high value clinical negligence matters.
The Role- Managing litigated and pre litigated defendant clinical negligence claims
- Acting for healthcare organisations, insurers and public sector clients
- Investigating claims to assess liability and quantum
- Drafting pleadings, reports, witness statements and correspondence
- Instructing counsel and medical experts
- Attending hearings, CMCs, mediations and trials
- Negotiating settlements and supporting resolution strategy
- Liaising with clients, experts, counsel and other stakeholders
- Ensuring accurate case progression, deadlines and compliance
- Supporting business development, training and client initiatives
- Assisting with supervision and mentoring where appropriate
- Qualified solicitor with up to 7 years' PQE
- Experience in clinical negligence or healthcare litigation
- Defendant experience preferred (claimant background considered)
- Strong understanding of CPR and litigation processes
- Confident handling of complex and high value cases
- Strong analytical skills, particularly with medical evidence
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Strong communicator with a professional client approach
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Salary up to £90,000 depending on experience
