Job Title: Clinical Data Translation Lead Location: London Job Type: Permanent role, Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home)

Agencies: We will only work with recruitment partners on our preferred supplier list and will not engage with speculative CVs submitted.

Are you passionate about making life science life changing and delivering impact for patients? We want to hear from you.

About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the evolving health data function at LifeArc, leading on delivery of our new Health Data Strategy. The post will support the translation of health data into tangible impact for patients affected by rare disease and resistant infections.

This role provides senior health professional and scientific leadership to connect LifeArc's Health Data Strategy with the UK NHS and wider international health data ecosystem, ensuring that large scale data assets are translated into high impact translational programmes.

The postholder leads the shaping and delivery of data enabled programmes, partnerships and roadmaps, using deep understanding of healthcare systems and health data to enable clinical trials, evidence generation, and progression of diagnostics, therapeutics and digital health tools. The role operates at the interface between clinical insight, data science and strategy, translating complex technical considerations into executable programmes and senior level decisions.

Through clinical credibility and external influence, the postholder builds trusted relationships across national health data initiatives, secures access to priority data assets, and ensures that data enabled programmes are clinically robust, patient centred, and deliver impact.

Key responsibilities include:

Health Data Ecosystem Engagement:

  • Act as LifeArc's scientific operational ambassador to NHS data programmes, including Secure Data Environments (SDEs), disease and patient registries, and large scale national initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior leaders and governance bodies so that LifeArc is recognised as a trustworthy partner.
  • Influence development and use of data infrastructure to ensure rare disease needs are represented.
  • Horizon scan for potential data assets nationally and internationally that could further our translational goals.
  • Partner with our science teams to identify and progress opportunities where health data can improve outcomes in rare disease.
  • Support LifeArc's Translational Centres to unlock secure data access and accelerate evidence generation.
  • Partner with LifeArc's AI/ML team on regulatory and clinical safety pathways for AI aMD/SaMD, including considerations such as UKCA/MHRA expectations, clinical safety (e.g., DCB0129/DCB0160), data quality, bias, external validation, and post market planning.
  • Utilise technical literacy in health data science, clinical coding, and data architectures to interrogate assumptions, assess feasibility, and guide design choices, without undertaking hands on data analysis.
  • Define programme milestones, risks, dependencies, and RACI with partners; maintain line of sight to delivery without taking on hands on data operations.

Essential experience required:

  • Deep understanding of health data programmes, including SDEs, governance frameworks, interoperability standards, clinical coding, and national initiatives.
  • Demonstrable experience operating independently in complex environments, providing senior level advice and recommendations within an agreed strategic framework.
  • Established credibility and professional network within the health data ecosystems, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and influencing roadmaps.
  • Experience shaping multi party programmes and partnerships, aligning opportunities to organisational strategy.
  • Familiarity with the development and deployment of AI and digital health tools in healthcare settings sufficient to engage credibly with technical and regulatory colleagues.
  • Significant understanding of clinical workflows (e.g., Trusts, ICBs, national bodies).

Education:

  • Qualification and experience as a registered healthcare professional (e.g. doctor, nurse, or pharmacist).
  • Postgraduate qualification or formal training in a relevant field such as clinical research, population health, digital health, health informatics, epidemiology, or translational science.
  • Formal training or certification relevant to clinical research, health data governance, or digital health regulation (e.g. clinical safety, health informatics, or research governance).
