Client Accountant

Forward-thinking mid-size accountancy practice is currently seeking a Client Accountant to join their Barnet-based team in a client-facing, comprehensive role within this growing general practice.

The Client Manager will be responsible for handling a portfolio of dedicated clients, serving as the first point of contact for queries, handling accounts preparation, and assisting junior team members.

The ideal Client Accountant will have experience in a client-facing role, be an excellent communicator, and in return, will enjoy a positive atmosphere, competitive benefits, and opportunities for progression to partner.

• Preparation of company and sole trader financial statements
• Acting as a point of contact for clients, offering advice
• Managing all aspects of accounting up to and including monthly management accounts
• Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Preparation of self-assessment returns for directors, self-employed individuals, partnerships, and rental property accounts
• Preparation of corporation tax returns
• Liaising with clients and providing advice on various matters
• Ensuring compliance for clients
• Qualified with ACCA / ACA / QBE (considered)
• 3+ years of proven experience in a client-facing role within public practice
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle diverse clients
• Good working knowledge of Xero & Iris
• Experience with SRA audits is advantageous
• 5% bonus based on portfolio fee level
