Job Description

An ambitious Top 40 chartered firm of accountants is currently seeking to add a Client Accountant to their team based in Sutton.

The Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing a team of accountants while assisting with a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries and turnover sizes. Responsibilities include preparing accounts, business and personal tax returns, and providing advisory and tax planning services.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing a client portfolio and leading a team, with strong advisory skills.

The Accounts Supervisor position offers a salary of up to £65,000, hybrid working options, and 25 days of holiday plus additional benefits.

  • Lead and develop the accounts team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
  • Manage and oversee workflow for preparing accounts, maintaining procedures and quality standards.
  • Coordinate incoming work to meet client deadlines and optimize team resources.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of statutory accounts (including FRS102, FRS102 1A, and FRS105).
  • Communicate directly with Partners, addressing queries and highlighting key points or exceptions for client updates.
  • Work with senior team members to plan client work efficiently and gather required documents.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and returns as needed.
  • Handle a portfolio of clients effectively.
  • Mentor junior team members and develop team skills.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 4 pm, with options to work from home approximately 40% of the week.
