Job Description

Clerical Officer Grade IV - Quality and Compliance Officer

This role is based in Kilkenny and involves a 35 hour working week on a fixed term contract for 6 months with pay ranging from €19.97 to €30.67 per hour depending on previous public sector experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and support continuous quality improvement across the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations, legislative requirements, and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete audits, ensuring actions are implemented and closed out within agreed timeframes.
  • Analyse quality data and audit findings to identify trends and support service improvements.
  • Support the management of HIQA registrations, documentation, and regulatory submissions.
  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Deliver quality and compliance training and support organisational change initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and teams to maintain high standards of quality, governance, and person centred service delivery.
  • Support compliance with New Directions and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Prepare reports and quality assurance information to support decision making and service development.
Essential Criteria
  • Relevant third level qualification in a related field or working towards the same.
  • Minimum three years' experience working within the disability sector.
  • Experience in quality assurance, auditing, compliance, service improvement, or regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of HIQA regulations, the Health Act 2007, New Directions, and disability service standards.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to person centred practice and the delivery of high quality services.
