Class 2 ADR Cylinders - Ivybridge Temp to Perm

This temporary-to-permanent position involves operating a Class 2 vehicle to deliver ADR cylinders across local routes from Ivybridge. You will perform pre-start inspections, secure loads, and handle products according to strict safety protocols, ensuring compliance with transport regulations. The hourly rate ranges from £17.13 to £25.69. The working pattern typically spans Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend cover. We seek a driver with a valid Class 2 licence and ADR certification in cylinders. Reliability, clear communication, and a professional demeanour are essential. Job Responsibilities
  • Operate a Class 2 vehicle to deliver cylinders safely and efficiently across local routes.
  • Complete pre-start checks and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy before departure.
  • Load, secure, and unload cylinders in line with safe handling procedures.
  • Follow all relevant transport regulations, company policies, and site requirements.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and complete paperwork correctly.
  • Provide a professional service to customers, ensuring deliveries are completed to specification.
  • Report any defects, incidents, or delays promptly to the transport team.
  • Drive responsibly with due care for pedestrians, other road users, and site personnel.
Required Skills andamp; Qualifications
  • Valid UK Class 2 (C) licence with a current Driver CPC.
  • Valid Digital Tachograph card.
  • ADR licence in gas (2) packages.
  • Experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles (cylinder or similar multi-drop delivery experience is advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of UK road safety and compliance with driving regulations.
  • Ability to load and secure goods safely, following manual handling and workplace procedures.
  • Good level of route planning and time management to meet delivery schedules.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers and site staff.
  • Comfort working in a physically active role, including safe lifting and handling where required.
