Job Description
HGV Class 1 Driver

Location: Didcot, OX11
Contract: Temporary Ongoing
Shifts Available:

  • Wednesday to Saturday, or

  • Wednesday to Friday & Sunday

  • Start Times: 2:00pm or 3:00pm

  • Shift Length: 9 hours (including a 45-minute break)

Pay:

  • Peak Period: £20.00 per hour (Days)

  • Please note: The pay rate is subject to change after the peak period and will decrease from September.

We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for a well-established client based in Didcot, OX11. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for regular, ongoing work with a consistent shift pattern.

The role involves store deliveries across the South East and Midlands, with all deliveries kept within close travelling distances. Most shifts consist of 1-2 store deliveries, making this an ideal role for drivers who enjoy straightforward, planned routes.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

  • Store deliveries across the South East and Midlands

  • Completing 1-2 deliveries per shift, depending on location

  • Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift

  • Completing all relevant paperwork accurately

  • Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time

  • Following Driver Hours Regulations and company procedures

Assessment Process

Before starting, all successful applicants will complete a two-stage assessment:

  1. Microsoft Teams theory assessment

  2. On-site driving assessment

Requirements

To be considered:

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence

  • Minimum 6 months' Class 1 driving experience

  • Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card

  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card

  • No more than 6 penalty points

  • A reliable, professional and safety-focused approach to work
