Civils Planner - Water Projects - 2 days per week

Hays Civil Engineering are working with a specialist contractor delivering projects across the UK water sector. Due to an increasing workload and a growing project portfolio, they are looking to appoint an experienced P6 Planner on a part-time contract basis, 2 days per week based in Loughborough.This opportunity would suit an experienced planning professional seeking a flexible engagement alongside existing commitments. The role will focus on maintaining and developing project programmes, supporting project teams with planning expertise and providing clear programme reporting to stakeholders.
Your new role
Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for:
- Developing, maintaining and updating Primavera P6 programmes
- Monitoring project progress and identifying programme risks
- Producing programme updates, reports and look-ahead schedules
- Supporting project teams with planning and sequencing activities
- Analysing critical path activities and recommending mitigation measures
- Assisting with change management and programme impact assessments
- Engaging with project managers, engineers and site teams to ensure accurate reporting
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience using Primavera P6 within construction, utilities or infrastructure environments
- Previous experience working on water or wastewater projects is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of project controls, planning and programme management
- Ability to engage confidently with project delivery teams
- Excellent reporting and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
