Summary
Freedom is currently recruiting for a civils ganger to be part of a team undertaking asset replacement works supporting the upgrade and replacement of substation equipment. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality workmanship and fit-for-purpose networks for our DNO customers, while maintaining a positive company image.
The role is based across the northwest of England
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting excavation and reinstatement work on small secondary substations for plant/equipment replacement
- Erecting SL&G to ensure public safety
- Installing LV and 11kV cabling
- Constructing form work for electrical equipment plinths
- Carrying out CAT scanning, pre-vetting, and planning works
- Reinstating tar work within footpaths and highways
- Maintaining high-quality workmanship to prevent defects
- Promoting best practices and innovative ideas
Qualifications and experience required:
- Experience working with utilities
- At least 5 years of practical experience
- Site safety passport and/or CDM site experience
- First Aid certification
- CAT and Genny experience
- Excavator tickets (desirable)
- Full driving license
