Summary

Freedom is currently recruiting for a civils ganger to join a team undertaking asset replacement works supporting the upgrade and replacement of substation equipment. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality workmanship and fit-for-purpose networks for our DNO customers, promoting the company positively at all times.

The role is based across the northwest of England

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting excavation and reinstatement work on small secondary substations for plant/equipment replacement
  • Erecting SL&G to ensure public safety
  • Installing LV and 11kV cabling
  • Constructing form work for electrical equipment plinths
  • Conducting CAT scanning, pre-vetting, and planning
  • Reinstating tar within footpaths and highways
  • Maintaining high-quality workmanship to prevent defects
  • Promoting best practices and innovative ideas

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience working with utilities
  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience
  • Site safety passport and/or CDM site experience
  • First Aid certification
  • CAT and Genny experience
  • Excavator tickets (desirable)
  • Full driving license
