Civil Design Engineer

Our client, a leading firm in the power utilities and distribution sector, is currently seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their team in London. This is a permanent role with the flexibility to work from home when required, providing an excellent work-life balance. The successful candidate will work on a range of renewable energy projects and have the opportunity for future progression to a Senior Civil Design Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Undertake substation civil and HV cable installation drawings, adhering to industry standards and company quality processes.
2. Manage document control for produced drawings and log transmittal of drawings.
3. Produce cost-effective and technically sound civil design drawings to construction-level detail.
4. Produce design briefs to instruct external design resources.
5. Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Manage external design resources to ensure civil design output meets business requirements.
7. Audit design work for compliance with relevant standards and financial management.

Job Requirements:

1. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, including complex 2D and 3D drawings, families, libraries, etc.
2. Experience with utility infrastructure projects is preferred.
3. Competent in using ROBOT structural calculation software for rebar design validation.
4. Ability to work unsupervised and meet set targets.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
6. A degree in a relevant engineering subject is preferred, but significant experience is equally important.
7. Understanding of construction industry practices, contracts, and the design and construction process.
8. Sound knowledge of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
9. Paying up to £60,000 per annum.
10. Hybrid working 1 day per week from home.
