What We're Looking For

• QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards completion
• At least two years' recent supervisory or management experience within a Registered Children's Home
• Proven experience within children's residential care
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Child-centred approach and genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people
• Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements
• Positive track record with Ofsted inspections
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills
• Ability to build effective relationships with families, local authorities, commissioners and partner agencies
• Full UK driving licence

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of the 3-bed EBD children's home
• Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements and Children's Homes Regulations
• Provide high-quality, trauma-informed and child-centred care
• Create a stable, nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and listened to
• Lead, motivate, develop and inspire a high-performing staff team
• Promote positive outcomes across education, health, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Maintain full regulatory compliance and ensure the home is inspection-ready
• Promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout the service
• Oversee care planning, risk management and quality of care
• Manage staffing, occupancy, budgets and resources effectively
• Build strong relationships with families, local authorities, schools and external professionals
• Monitor service quality and staff performance, driving continuous improvement
• Support staff through supervision, development and performance management
• Contribute to the wider development of services across the region
