Job Description
Early Years Apprentice - Emscote Day Nursery

Join Childbase Partnership and be part of something extraordinary. The role is Early Years Apprentice at Emscote Day Nursery in Leamington Spa (CV32 5DE).

Contract: 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Working pattern: Varied shifts Monday Friday between 07:30 and 18:30. Start date window: August18-September18,2026.

Salary starts at £8.00 per hour, increases to £10.41 after six months, and if aged 21or over, rises to £12.74 after 12 months in post.

About You

You are passionate about building a career with children, interested in child development, and will care for babies and young children under five.

You thrive when engaging in practical tasks and are excited about learning how to plan and implement high quality, engaging activities linked to the early years curriculum and promoting children's learning through play, plus observing, assessing and recording children's progress.

You are nurturing and empathetic, prioritise safety, and will ensure every child feels safe, valued, and happy, their wellbeing is promoted and their individual needs are met at all times, following policies and procedures and direction from the management team and your trainer/assessor.

You manage your time effectively, using off the job learning time within the working week and allocating time outside work to complete written work and submit coursework by deadlines set by your trainer/assessor.

You collaborate, enjoy working in partnership with others as part of a team, possess strong communication skills (verbal and written) and build strong positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

Eligibility and Application

Eligibility criteria: right to work in the UK, national insurance number, photographic ID (passport or driving licence), access to a computer, residency in the UK for at least the last three years, ability to travel to and from group training sessions at Newport Pagnell (travel costs covered). Applicants must reside within a commutable distance of the nursery, meet the eligibility criteria, and hold suitable Right to Work in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.
