We are currently seeking a Chief Medical Scientist / Chief Biomedical Scientist.
Please note: This is an on site position and is not a hybrid role. Flexibility around shift rosters is required.
The RoleAs Chief Medical Scientist / Chief Biomedical Scientist, you will be responsible for the overall operations of the AutoLab and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of laboratory testing and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the overall operations of the AutoLab.
- Maintain a high standard in laboratory testing and quality performance.
- Provide support to clients and colleagues to ensure a first class service.
- Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes and services.
- Lead and coordinate senior medical scientists, basic grade scientists, technicians and students.
- Ensure team allocation aligns with skills, training, experience and workload requirements.
- Promote open communication throughout the AutoLab.
- Manage rosters, workload organisation and task prioritisation to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Manage departmental training requirements and competency development.
- Take overall responsibility for overdue and urgent work files.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding patient, client and company information.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a medical testing laboratory.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a laboratory leadership role.
- Proven experience achieving and/or maintaining accreditation to ISO 15189 standards.
- CORU or PCPC registration as a Medical Scientist.
