Chief Inspector - Coventry Bodycote Heat Treatments Ltd.

We are looking to recruit a Chief Inspector who will ensure that inspected components comply with the customer's specifications.

Main responsibilities:

• Carry out accurate and efficient inspection and verification of Heat Treatment Cycle Charts
• Carry out accurate and efficient component inspection
• Lead the inspection team and support / resolve issues within inspection
• Support Contract Review process
• Maintain component identification
• Maintain inspection records
• Liaison with production with regard to priorities and customer requirements
• Ensure that any equipment used is within calibration and in good condition
• Ensure that any specification used is the correct issue
• Final release of customer product
• Creating TDC/build sheets/loading plans
• Periodic checks and calibrations
• Hardness testing
• Follow company health & safety procedures
• Follow company environmental procedures.
• Comply with all quality system requirements.
• Maintain good working practices and housekeeping

Qualifications, experience and skills:

• No formal qualifications required but evidence of good general education standard
• Experience in the use of hardness testing equipment preferred
• Experience in dimensional inspection preferred
• Experience working in a metallurgical laboratory preparing & examine metallographic specimens is preferred
• Working or theoretical knowledge of Nitriding & other heat treatments is advantageous
