Job Description

We are seeking a CFO to lead and scale Epyr's financial strategy and operations. Reporting directly to the co-founders, you will play a pivotal role in securing the capital and financial structure required to scale a capital-intensive industrial tech business at the intersection of technology, energy, infrastructure, and climate - with a near-term objective of raising €50M-€100M and several hundred million euros in the medium term.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Funding & Capital Structuring
  • Define and execute Epyr's funding strategy, supporting the trajectory from VC to infrastructure-style financing
  • Lead financial structuring of both corporate and project vehicles to enable industrial deployment at scale
  • Co-develop the economic and business models balancing client and investor requirements
  • Manage fundraising rounds end-to-end: sourcing, due diligence, structuring, and closing, in close collaboration with the leadership team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, investors, and public funding bodies
  • Lead reporting and drive strategic financial discussions with investors and lenders
Grant Strategy & Execution
  • Define and execute Epyr's non-dilutive financing strategy
  • Own and manage grant applications at both national (France, Germany, Spain ) and European (EIC, Innovation Fund, EIB ) levels
  • Ensure successful follow-up, reporting, and compliance with public funding requirements
Financial Planning & Execution
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and performance tracking
  • Implement robust financial reporting tools and internal controls
  • Support strategic decision-making with scenario modeling and capital allocation analysis
Must-Have
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, consulting, M&A, private equity, infrastructure funds, or as CFO of a scale-up
  • Strong expertise in financial structuring and modeling
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Deal-oriented profile, as the core responsibility of the role will be fundraising and capital structuring
Nice-to-Have
  • Proven track record in project financing and/or fundraising
  • Experience in energy, or climate-related sectors
  • Familiarity with industrial projects, asset financing, or public-private partnership models
  • Knowledge of EU funding landscape and decarbonization policies
