We are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a large and vibrant secondary school in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled chef with strong leadership abilities to step into a term-time only role with a leading contract catering provider.

The Role:

As Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a busy school kitchen. You will lead a dedicated team, deliver a high-quality food offering, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and maintain strong relationships with the school and wider catering team.

This is a rewarding role in an energetic environment where you can make a real difference to the school community by providing nutritious, well-balanced meals.

Key Details:

  • Location: Basingstoke

  • Team: 6 FOH staff plus kitchen support

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, daytime hours

  • Contract: Term-time only (plus inset/training days as required)

  • Environment: Large, modern secondary school

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Chef Manager or Head Chef, ideally within education or high-volume catering

  • Strong people management and organisational skills

  • A passion for delivering healthy, appealing food to a young audience

  • Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and compliance standards

  • Ability to manage stock, budgets, and kitchen administration effectively
